Artistic apartment in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Our apartment “Coba” is situated on the side of beautiful Babin Kuk hill to the south of Lapad Bay.This apartment is in the grounds of the ‘Marijan” gallery which is open to visitors. You can spend your holiday in an artistic environment, surrounded by 50 marble and bronze sculptures.

The complex was the ‘atelier’ of Prof. Marijan Kockovic, one of ex-Yugoslavia’s most famous sculptors, with his sculptures and artworks found across the world, especially in the U.S.A.

Prof. Marijan Kockovic – the world renowned artist. ( 1923. – 1991. ) in 45 years of his art work he held over 100 exibitions all over the world, during the time of his art work his sculptural and tapestry creations have decorated the interiors of many public buldings, hotels and banks the world all over; among the others: the Sears towers in Chicago, Trelawny hotel on Jamaica, Storck factory in Germany and many others, including the ones in his native country. Originated more than 300 portraits in marble and bronce, over 350 sculptures in bronce, stone, wood and copper, and in excess of 250 tapestries.

Many of his art pieces can be found in many private collections and galleries. winner of many awards and recognitions for art, he also received one of the greatest awards – Title of Academician of Italy, with gold medal, for top achievements in the field of art.

Many celebrities, such as Elisabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Sophia Loren, Yul Brinner, Mikis Theodorakis – the famous greece composer, President Tito, mr.Abe Pritzker, Gaby Sayfert, mrs. Edna Firth Lemle, found the perfect shade in the beautiful garden gallery during posing or just during their rest.
President J. F. Kennedy, mr. Armand Hammer and many others also had their bust made by famous sculptor Marijan.
